Kathryn Johnston Memorial Park – Atlanta, GA

This Atlanta park in English Avenue is designed to help solve a chronic flooding problem and honor Kathryn Johnston a resident who tragically killed. Kathryn was known in the neighborhood as “Mother” She would loved to have been a part of this playground and community restoration. This beautiful park will keep her memory alive.

This park process was facilitated by park Pride incorporating several green infrastructure amenities, this park will manage up to 3.5 million gallons of rainwater per year, mitigating the impact of flooding from stormwater runoff in the neighborhood. The park includes a playground, fitness station, and an open field for soccer games, flying kites, or hosting community events.
